Welcome To ballyconnell Community centre

In 2022, a dedicated community-wide committee took over the lease of Ballyconnell Community Centre, and in 2023, we secured a €300,000 grant from The Community Centre Fund. After careful planning and professional assessments, these funds were used to complete essential upgrades, including a brand-new roof and a modern fire alarm system. The previous 33-year-old roof had suffered from poor insulation, weather damage, and worn-out fittings, but thanks to these renovations, our centre is now safer, more energy-efficient, and well-prepared to serve the community for years to come.

With additional support from Cavan County Council, we also upgraded the foyer, created new office spaces, and carried out vital improvements to the toilets. The International Fund for Ireland has helped us employ a Community Worker to manage the centre and run a fantastic range of programmes. We are also delighted to be progressing with further funding applications, including the Peace Plus Programme and the Sports Capital Programme, which could bring even more opportunities for expansion.

Now, in 2025, Ballyconnell Community Centre is fully open and thriving! We have built a busy schedule of programmes, events, and activities to cater to all ages and interests, from fitness classes and workshops to social gatherings and community support initiatives. Our spaces are also available for hire, providing a welcoming venue for local groups, clubs, and businesses.

As we continue to grow, we always welcome volunteers to help maintain and improve the centre.
